The rock band Eva Under Fire is proud to release the video for their first song released with Better Noise Music “Heroin(e)”. The song is included on the recently-released soundtrack for the film Sno Babies (Better Noise Films), enhancing the film’s message of hope and the power of recovery. "SNO BABIES" streams September 29th via Video On Demand.

More than just a movie, "SNO BABIES" is a call to action – a reminder that the drug epidemic remains a crisis, exacerbated by the COVID pandemic, and that through the power of our networks and communities we can save lives.

"SNO BABIES" depicts the grim realities of addiction and its effects on a middle-class suburban town. Kristen and Hannah are best friends - smart, likable and college-bound– and also addicted to heroin. The pair of seemingly unlikely addicts spiral down a path of destruction, hiding their secret from well-meaning but busy parents behind pink bedrooms and school uniforms "SNO BABIES" shows how easy it can be to both miss and hide the signs of addiction. The film, produced by Allen Kovac, Mike Walsh and Michael Lombardi, stars Katie Kelly (Game of Silence), Paola Andino (Queen of the South), Michael Lombardi (Rescue Me) and Shannan Wilson (Elementary).

Every facet of this project raises money for The Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation (GRI), the first and only national community foundation dedicated to funding support services for people in early recovery from substance use disorders. Every sale and stream of the "Sno Babies" soundtrack (including “Heroin(e)”) and of the film helps someone in recovery. Other artists with songs in the soundtrack include labelmates Sixx:A.M., Escape The Fate, Bad Wolves and From Ashes To New among others.

“Heroin(e)” is an emotional song lyrically, touching on the issues of substance abuse, something lead singer Amanda Lyberg knows far too much about. “I wrote this song because I lived this story. My parents struggled with substance abuse my entire life with one surviving it and the other not” Amanda continues: "It honestly means the world to me that this song is part of the 'Sno Babies' film. We are all screaming the same message: Awareness is needed! Recovery is real!”. The film and music video’s director, Bridget Smith, says of the connection: "The song speaks to Kristen's inner journey when she decides she must save herself and she's not responsible to save her friend from her addiction".

Eva Under Fire got their start five years ago and instantly began cutting their teeth in the underground rock scene, building an enthusiastic fanbase the old-fashioned way. However, the band’s trajectory shifted toward the stratosphere when they sent an unsolicited demo to Better Noise Music, who recognized the band’s hybrid of rock, metal, pop, and classic rock as something wholly unique. The band has spent the past two years working on their upcoming album, which is set to be their most ambitious and fully realized release to date. “We really wanted to challenge ourselves with this record and focus on melodies and writing the best material that we could come up with” Amanda explains. “We really came up with the best of the best when it came to our songwriting. Some songs are fun, others are more emotional”.
