‘Huyendo del Fuego’, a call for Latin American empathy

The impact of the Venezuelan diaspora resonates deeply in the soul of Elektra, who through their single ‘Huyendo del Fuego’ address a topic that many want to avoid and that is a bleeding wound in the heart of all Latin America. This new audiovisual material is a call to reflection and empathy towards a people forced to flee their native country to find a better future in other latitudes and, above all, the long-awaited freedom to choose.

“We have always been concerned and shocked to see how thousands of people cross the entire continent and the most arid desert in the world, seeking to escape a dictatorship and find a place to live freely and with dignity,” says Álvaro Fuchser, guitarist and leader of Elektra. And this year, after the already known outcome of the last elections in Venezuela, Rafael Bastías, director of the video clip and history teacher, made them the proposal to give that song that has a powerful message, a complement of images to share with the entire world.

The band born in the city of Talcahuano emerged in 2021 with the powerful force of its guitar riffs and the beautiful voice of its singer Dania Larenas, adding to the scene a marked identity and modern artistic proposal. This video is the third one they release, marking the end of the cycle of their first collection of songs, the EP “No Podrán Destruirnos”, to now focus on the development and production of a new album.

Formed by Dania Larenas (voice), Álvaro Fuchser (guitar), Gerardo Correa (drums) and Camilo Silva (bass), the quartet wants to establish itself as a protagonist of the new sounds of Chilean rock from a renewed artistic commitment and a different strategy of opening up to the world.
