Ireland's "loudest band" return following 2025 debut EP 'Muck', showcases at Eurosonic last week, with a co-headline tour with Heavy Lungs this February and ArcTanGent and FOCUS Wales confirmed for later this year

Dublin noiseniks Bucket return today with new single ‘Nonsense’. Packing elements of garage, noise-rock, hardcore and electronic music into a volatile three minutes, it’s a song that simmers with tension before collapsing into a blissfully erratic wall of noise. Bucket will embark on a co-headline tour of Ireland with Heavy Lungs this February, with festivals including ArcTanGent and FOCUS Wales confirmed for later this year.

With a uniquely abrasive and punishing sound – earning them a reputation (half myth, half warning) as Dublin’s loudest band – new single 'Nonsense' follows showcases last week at Eurosonic (marked by 3voor12 as one of the highlights of the festival) along with recent festival appearances at Primavera Sound, New Colossus (NYC), and Supersonic Block Party (Paris).

Mixed and engineered by Dublin electronic artist and producer James Eager(Lankum, The Scratch), 'Nonsense' marks a clear expansion of Bucket’s world following 2025 debut EP 'Muck'. Building methodically before splintering into jagged rhythms and abrupt dynamic shifts, danceable moments clash with crushing guitar tones, with the trio balancing control with total chaos.

Lyrically, vocalist Cian Dahdouh taps into society’s fixation with extreme psychology and the uneasy voyeurism of true crime culture, as he explains:

“The song is written from the perspective of a fictional stalker, unfolding as an internal monologue that exposes their obsessive and unsettling mindset. It draws on feelings of paranoia and being watched, alongside society’s fascination with mentally unstable people who commit horrific acts. The popularity of true crime reflects a desire to understand how these minds work, which pushed me to explore that space.”

Debut EP 'Muck' (2025), alongside early singles ‘Who Knows?’ and ‘Budgie’, cemented their identity as a band driven by tension and physicality, with their live shows known for pushing at the limits of endurance and atmosphere.

With further releases planned across 2026, Bucket's new single 'Nonsense' is out now. Bucket join Heavy Lungs for a co-headline tour of Ireland this February, before playing ArcTanGent and FOCUS Wales later this year.
