It's been a couple of years since Danko Jones were last in Belgium, but next month they return to play Graspop Metal Meeting on June the 20th on the back of their hugely succesful album 'Fire Music', released in February this year through Bad Taste Records/ Suburban!
'Fire Music' entered the sales charts in eight countries around the world including Belgium. At #21 in Germany they were the highest charting international artist in the week of release. The first single “Do You Wanna Rock” is currently at #5 on the Active Rock radio chart in Canada and have held that position for 2 months now (!), making it their most succesful single in Canada. They are also about to crack the Top 40 at Rock Radio in the US and one of their previous singles just went Platinum in Sweden!
With the anticipation of Graspop we are now releasing their second single from the latest album - 'Wild Woman'; a hard driven track with a lot of angst and pent up emotions. The music of Danko Jones has always doubled as a form of therapy, a physical and emotional release for those times when love is unkind. “You don’t listen to love anymore,” Danko sings to the titular “Wild Woman” of the album’s opening track—so, he reasons, perhaps she’ll listen to hate.
