Cult 80s psych/punks Your Heterosexual Violence are delighted to announce their return today with news of their forthcoming new album Some People Have Too Much To Say, set for release on 26th September 2025.

Released in collaboration with Trapped Animal Records (The Baby Seals, Grrrl Gang, Jemma Freeman & The Cosmic Something) via their exciting new sublabel, Ferocious Dog Records, the album will be available on all formats, including traditional black and a limited turquoise vinyl edition.

An album launch show is set for Sunday 5th October at The Lexington, London, with more UK dates to follow (see below for listings).

To celebrate the news, the band are sharing new single ‘House Outside The World’ today, released on 10th June 2025 via all good digital service providers.

Clocking in at under 3 minutes, ‘House Outside the World’ is a radio-friendly slice of 20th century psych/punk philosophy that you can sing along or dance to…or maybe just have a listen with a cup of tea and contemplate the nature of existence.

Commenting on the single, guitarist David Dodd said: “‘House Outside the World’ is an existential pop song, partly inspired by the novel A Happy Death by Albert Camus. Loneliness, alienation, and nothingness are the song’s main themes, set against a classic pop song format with added power chords thrown in for good measure.”

Formed in Woolwich, South East London in 1982, Your Heterosexual Violence (or simply The Violence) built a cult following on the back of ferocious live shows and support slots with punk and indie legends including The Poison Girls, The June Brides, Alternative TV, The Three Johns, Television Personalities, Five Go Down to the Sea?, The Nightingales, and appeared on an album with Sonic Youth.

Their evolving sound—post-punk with jagged edges, left turns into punk jazz, and a fiercely DIY spirit—earned them a place on the Communicate!!! Live at Thames Poly compilation in 1986 and mentions in NME, Time Out, The Guardian, and even an unlikely appearance in Smash Hits.

After imploding in 1988, the band lay dormant until reforming just before the pandemic. Now, with a revitalised line-up featuring Simon Birch on Hammond and the addition of glam-punk powerhouse Jemma Freeman on bass and vocals, the band have found fresh momentum and are ready to release their most ambitious and anticipated record to date.

Further album details and live dates TBA over the coming weeks.
