Los Angeles alt rock outfit Charming Liars have released their glistening new single ‘Golden State’, while currently in the UK on tour with Palaye Royale. “Everyone's searching for something here and they've all come to the right place”, explains vocalist Kiliyan Maguire. “‘Golden State’ embodies the spirit of California natives and all those who have made the move west in hopes of finding their spot under the golden sun”.

Charming Liars began in London’s West End with guitarist and producer Karnig Manoukian and bassist Mike Kruger, who combined their wide ranging and eclectic musical tastes and started making music. In 2013 they decided to make the move to Los Angeles, where they were invited to work with songwriter and producer John Feldmann (Panic! at the Disco, 5 Seconds of Summer, Blink-182) and soon connected with the wildly charismatic singer Kiliyan.

Since then they have been hard at work, writing and recording new music while extensively touring across the globe. 2019 saw Charming Liars make huge waves across the UK and US following the release of their new album Thought, Flesh, and Bone which spawned the powerful singles ‘Soul’, ‘Something Dark’, ‘Like A Drug’, ‘Insomnia’ and ‘Ocean’.

Their innate ability to write catchy and compelling music and their stunning live performances has seen them build a legion of loyal followers across the waters, leading to an impressive run of international headline and support tours.

Last year they returned to the UK playing headline shows, performing on the final bill at London’s The Borderline and supporting The Faim on tour. September then saw the band head off on an extended run as support to Angels & Airwaves across the States, adding to their growing live resumé which already includes shows with Kings Of Leon, Jack White, Tokio Hotel and Weezer to name a few.

2020 now sees them taking flight with a collection of new music ready to release and plenty more touring to come. The band are currently mid-way through the Palaye Royale UK tour, with a show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire tonight before finishing off in Birmingham and Bristol over the weekend.

  • 21st - Shepherds Bush Empire, London (UK)
  • 23rd - O2 Institute, Birmingham (UK)
  • 24th - SWX, Bristol (UK)
