Celsa Maxwell is a 25 year old songwriter from Belgium. She was born into a musical family, with both parents gaining success with 90s band “Betty Goes Green”, and brother, Lenny Crabbe, as frontman of “Freaky Age”. At the age of 16 she moved to Brighton, UK, where she studied songwriting at the British Institute of Modern Music (BIMM). (Fellow alumni include : George Ezra, James Bay, Skunk Anansie, The Kooks, etc.). The past few years she has been preparing the release of her first album, while improving her recording and production skills. Everything is recorded by Celsa herself, embracing a lo-fi sound, as she believes the true sentiments of music lie in its imperfections.

In December 2019, Celsa suffered a sudden deafness episode which has left her single sided deaf. This has put a huge spanner in the works, but she is determined to continue. The current releases are pre-hearing loss recordings, in the meantime she is adjusting to life and songwriting with her new hearing situation. Album coming 2021.
