Cara Neir: Invisible Oranges Premieres 2D Animation Video For "Damnation" From Texas Post-Black Duo

North Texas post-black metal duo CARA NEIR is proud to present the 2D animated music video for "Damnation," premiering exclusively via Invisible Oranges. WATCH CARA NEIR BATTLE "DAMNATION" HERE

Invisible Oranges writes, "CARA NEIR's chameleonic existence is no mystery: multi-instrumentalist Garry Brents and vocalist Chris Francis are restless, and from that restlessness comes immense creativity. ... In a new video made by artist Răzvan Constantin, Brents (a mage) and Francis (a paladin) fight their way through a dungeon, complete with magic spells and boss battles."

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band, Phase Out is CARA NEIR's most adventurous album to date as the sixth full-length sees the duo warp into a strange 8-bit alternate dimension. To make it out alive, the Arlington / Denton-based adventurers must fight a sinister alien entity through a rigorous 90's-style RPG gauntlet.

Each track represents a different stage in this bold and wild ride with the album obliterating through any notion of orthodoxy as CARA NEIR imbues components of chiptune, black metal, crust punk, indie rock and electronic sections intricately scattered throughout.

The listener will experience a range of bits, bleeps, beats, and buzzing sounds one might recognize from retro dungeon crawlers and JRPG's, all sprinkled within CARA NEIR's shape-shifting and genre-bending hysteria.

"This song, and stage, of the album is us freshly warped into a strange video game dimension by The One From Trimjrtle," Brents says of the video. "We're simply stuck inside this dungeon crawler, and our newfound powers might just get us out after considerable hacking and slashing."

Originating from the cold sweats of a fever dream, CARA NEIR was formed in Arlington, Texas, in 2008 by Chris Francis and Garry Brents (Sallow Moth, ex-Wildspeaker). Taking an experimental approach with each release, the band has compounded an impressive amalgamation of black metal, grind, and hardcore into a post-apocalyptic nightmare spanning across multiple full-lengths and splits, the latter featuring the likes of Horseback, Caïna, and others.
