After 2025’s hugely successful edition, Breaking Borders - the world’s biggest Desi destination festival - is returning to Malta in 2026. Taking place between 3rd - 6th September, the festival will once again bring together the best of the South Asian music scene and community for four unforgettable days and nights on the stunning Mediterranean island of Malta.
Global icon Karan Aujla returns for two headline sets across two nights (Friday and Sunday), and in a career first, he will perform two different setlists. Karan Aujla says: “2025 was just the beginning, and 2026 is about to be something special. This year, I got a chance to headline two nights with two different setlists. This is something I've never done before. This festival represents Desi culture on a global stage, and being a part of that journey means a lot to me. If you were there last time, you already know. If you missed it, this is your chance. See you guys there - let's have fun!”
Global hitmaker AP Dhillon has also been announced as the Saturday headliner. AP Dhillon says: “Malta, I’m coming through. Proud to see how far our community’s reached. Can’t wait to headline Saturday and put on a show to remember. See you all there.”
The stacked lineup of nonstop live music and performances also includes international acts Jasmine Sandlas, Sukha, The PropheC, Tegi Pannu, Harkirat Sangha, BK, Panjabi MC, Miss Pooja and Prabh. Bringing the beats and party energy, curated takeovers from Desi Beatz and Jawani 4eva will showcase and celebrate the scene’s best South Asian DJs and voices.
