Today, rising metal visionaries Black Satellite have released their haunting new single “Downfall,” available now on all streaming platforms and accompanied by a striking official video.
The song explores the theme of toxic relationships, with vocalist Larissa Vale delivering raspy, roaring vocals that convey emotional suffocation over a nostalgic, melodic groove.
“‘Downfall’ casts a light on the complexities of dealing with a really toxic person in your life and all the needless destruction and collateral damage created as a result,” the singer explains. “It’s really about reaching your absolute breaking point where you don’t even have the energy to stand up for yourself anymore. It’s kind of the sentiment of 'If you’re going down, then I guess I am too.' Essentially giving in to the fight because it’s completely eaten you alive to the point where there’s nothing left.”
