FREIA Music is proud to announce the latest addition to their line up, the exciting new Belgian band Offworld.

The members of the band bring their diverse musical background into an extreme diversity of musical styles. Bass player Peter Baart has extensive experience playing with psychedelic bands and funk music. Stijn Van Den Bossche has a background in jazz and classical music. Guitarist Tom Tas plays in several rock and metal bands in Belgium and original drummer Mustafa Ketami plays in some well respected reggae bands. (Mustafa has been replaced by Bliksem drummer Rob Martin for the recording of the album).

2016 sees the release of Offworld’s debut concept album ‘Some Circles Are Square’; a roaring, soaring, never-boring, infuriating, wild and often whacky smorgasbord of a record – equal parts Prog, Psychedelic, Rock, Metal, Funk, Lounge, Shred, and a number of other styles that have yet to be coined with a term. Sometimes weird, often crazy, yet always compelling and dosed with fiery passion and high levels of musicianship, Offworld takes the listener on a trip through Space Opera’s most bizarre and dangerous reaches.

Peter of FREIA Music says: "Offworld were a complete (but pleasant) surprise to me. For me this is quintessential progressive music. No boundaries or restrictions, but a lot of experimentation and variation in styles. This bands deserves a platform and we're proud to help them get that".

Tom of Offworld adds: "Offworld are proud, excited and flabbergasted to be signed to one of Holland’s great and mighty Prog labels, FREIA Music! This album has been a long time in the making, so the fact that we were able to attract the interest and recognition of a seasoned and respected record company such as FREIA, means the world to us… Thank you, Peter – together, let’s make this a spectacular release!"

'Some Circles Are Square' is scheduled for release in the autumn of this year.
