2019 is already shaping up to be a big year for one of the most exciting acts emerging from Nashville, Judah & The Lion. The award winning, genre-bending trio pull together the twang of folk, the beat of hip-hop, the drive of rock & roll and the punch of pop to create something fresh and unique.

First rising to prominence with their US Alternative Radio No.1 hit ‘Take It All Back’ from their second album Folk Hop N Roll in 2016, Judah & The Lion are now back with brand new music and have just released the track ‘Why Did We Run?’, taken from their upcoming new album Pep Talks, due out May 3rd via Caroline and their own label Cletus The Van.

Vocalist Judah Akers explains, "The first verse is about me getting a call from my mom when she was in jail but I didn't know what to do or say. And, of course, right after I called my dad but he didn't answer and it felt like a very lonely moment. It was like, 'Oh, I'm in the world alone.' I imagined how hard it'd be to be a 13-year-old kid dealing with a divorce, because here I am, a 25-year-old, and it just rocked me.”

It comes on the heels of the recent singles ‘Pep Talk’, ‘Quarter-Life Crisis’ and ‘Over My Head’, which has reached Top 10 on the Alternative Radio chart in the US, accumulating over 2 million streams. The album Pep Talks also features the critically-acclaimed single‘Pictures’, featuring Kacey Musgraves and is available to pre-order fromhttps://jatl.lnk.to/peptalks

The band, formed of Judah Akers, Nate Zuercher and Brian Macdonald, arrived not on the back of some big-budget major label, but through their own hard work and passion for the music. They encourage openness, strength in togetherness, and above all, hope through their art and bring an unparalleled energy to all their live performances.

They’ve appeared on Good Morning America, CONAN, Jimmy Kimmel and The Late Late Show with James Corden, as well as various festivals and have toured across the US, UK and Europe with the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, and more.

They have also just announced the Pep Talks Worldwide Tour – their biggest headlining tour yet. The tour features shows in the UK & Europe including Glasgow, Dublin and London in July. The North American leg of the tour then kicks off in Kansas City on August 10th and will include their biggest hometown show yet at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater on August 24th. Pre-sales begin March 5th and general on-sale begins on Friday, March 8th.

On March 19th they will be performing ‘Over My Head’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Outdoor Stage as well as playing two showcases at this year’s SXSW.

Judah & The Lion are experimenting with an uplifting alt-folk sound that escapes the obvious and resonates with the masses.
