Today, Australia-born artist AViVA is set to release her final single for 2021, ‘NIGHTMARE’ the first single off her next album Volume III.

NIGHTMARE’ returns AViVA’s fans to her dark and immersive flavour of alt-pop, offering a somewhat sinister yet empowering single to sign off the year that has been 2021. As always AViVA’s lyrics take the listener on a journey, showcasing the uncompromising originality that’s earned AViVA a passionate global following in recent years.

With its sing-song chorus and dark hip-hop verse ‘NIGHTMARE’ has all the trademark vocal performances, production and elements that explore AViVA’s effortless flow and fierce yet vulnerable presence

On ‘NIGHTMARE’ AViVA has said “I try to write songs that leave the listener feeling empowered. Whether that is standing up against adversity, negative self-talk or whatever your personal ‘nightmares’ are. I think that is what makes a song powerful, if it can leave the listener feeling stronger than they did before they listened.” Her fans, self-titled ‘OUTSiDERS’ relate to her emotional lyrics and find power in her songs as she explores the challenges of friendship and feelings of isolation and the self-empowerment that comes from loving yourself for who you are. AViVA’s music speaks a powerful message about taking ownership of labels, and this is explored even more in her debut YA novel SELF/LESS.

A multidisciplinary artist, AViVA has just released her debut novel SELF/LESS via Macmillan this past month. Set within a closed society in which all forms of self-expression and creativity are outlawed, the book follows its 17-year-old protagonist Teddy as she rebels against her upbringing and discovers a secret world beneath the walled-in city where she was raised. According to AViVA, SELF/LESS fulfils a longtime mission of creating her own distinct multiverse that seamlessly merges music and literature- Her two passions.
