Australia’s Hazards Of Swimming Naked have announced a full international release for their debut album Our Lines Are Down in celebration of its 12th anniversary this year. The album will be available October 15th on all digital platforms and CD via Bird’s Robe Records as part of the label’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

The band are now based in Brisbane, having originally formed in the far north of Queensland in Australia. The humidity and vibrancy of that region permeates their music and culminates in a sound which shares all the cinematic grandeur of artists such as Mogwai, Mono & Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Over the past 12 years, their two full-length albums Our Lines Are Down (2009) and Take Great Joy (2018) have showcased their shimmering melodies and intensely emotional songwriting.

They have also earned a reputation in their homeland for excellent live soundtrack performances to multiple short and full length films. Their live shows have largely been based in Australia – building a dedicated following locally and sharing stages with many of the most iconic artists in the post-rock genre – Mono, sleepmakeswaves, 65daysofstatic, This Will Destroy You, And So I Watch You From Afar & more.

Bird’s Robe Director Mike Solo says: "Hazards Of Swimming Naked have long been a favourite of many of the Bird’s Robe bands and I was really happy to work with them on their second album release ‘take great joy’ back in 2018. Their debut Our Lines Are Down remains one of the most beloved Australian post-rock albums and is a landmark record for the band and our little scene. It deserves greater attention internationally and that’s why we are giving it renewed attention in 2021 as part of our anniversary series.

The guys in the band are brilliantly talented, lovely folks and they’ve always been warmly welcomed by all the other artists they’ve shared a stage with. It’s an honour to be able to continue to share their music with people – even if it does take several years for each record to develop! As they themselves say – Hazards Of Swimming Naked is a unique slow-moving flower, but one that is truly beautiful when in full bloom."

Our Lines Are Down will be available through Bird’s Robe Records on October 15, 2021.
