Armenian-American producer/DJ Niko Boggs is back with a new single ‘The Pressure’ out now as part of the Dirtybird’s 20th anniversary.
Rumbling with underground inclinations, ‘The Pressure’ bubbles into an industrial-tinged groove perfect for the late night peaks of Dirtybird’s 20th Anniversary Tour. Inspired by 80s breakbeat, the track is punctuated by acidic basslines, rolling drums, and quirky vocal chops that layer for an entrancing four minutes. Glitchy and off-kilter, ‘The Pressure’ is a prime example of the curiosity-driven talent that Dirtybird has continued to incubate over the last 20 years.
“‘The Pressure’ came about when I was experimenting with some vocals. The vocal chops formed the loop, then I added a bassline and glitchy synth tones from my modular synth. Finally, I wanted the drums to have an organic and analog 80s vibe to create a balance between the clubby, electronic side and a more retro, punk feel.” – Niko Boggs
Armenian-American producer/DJ Niko Boggs has established himself as a rising force in the house scene. The LA-based artist debuted on the label in 2022 with ‘Modular Funk’, which doubled as his first original single. Between his Dirtybird appearances, Niko Boggs teamed up with fellow Birdfeed up-and-comer Rodney Dinkles for their Orca EP and now returns with his second solo excursion, ‘The Pressure’.
