Sometimes dreams do come true. Arctic Monkeys -they top the wish list of the festival fans- are back after a 3-year hiatus. Their live return is now official, the big news can be revealed. Arctic Monkeys are playing the Rock Werchter festival (Belgium). They are the festival’s closing act on Sunday 8 July.

No one exudes as much swagger and self-confidence as Arctic Monkeys. A crucial British band, like The Clash, The Jam, The Smiths and The Libertines were before them. Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Matt Helders formed Arctic Monkeys in Sheffield in 2002. Their first single, ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ (2005) shot straight to the top of the UK charts. Their debut album is the fastest-selling debut in the UK charts history. They now have five albums to their name, each one more popular than the last. And each new one scores even higher on lists of the Best Albums of All Time. To date their songs have been streamed globally in excess of 6 billion times, with 5.5 million streams listened to every day. Arctic Monkeys have set the bar high, and continue to raise it, artistically and commercially. Album number 6, due this year, will be better again.
