Professional metalheads Pedro and Antonio Almeida, the Canadian father-son duo behind A&P-Reacts, are going to Iceland to weigh in on this year’s Wacken Metal Battle. The pair have been invited to Reykjavik to be judges for this very special 10th Anniversary edition of the event on May 21st.
Pedro and Antonio comment: “We are honored to be invited to participate in such a prestigious event. Iceland is a country with an incredible culture and part of that culture is their love for heavy music. If we can somehow for one day be part of that experience we are beyond excited to add our own perspective to it. We would like to thank Wacken Metal Battle Iceland for the invitation and for trusting in us for the job ahead.”
Competing at this year's Wacken Metal Battle is DEVINE DEFILEMENT, FORSMAN, HOLDRIS, KROWNEST, MERKUR, MUR and VOGEL, along with guest bands MORPHOLITH and MISPYRMING.
Pedro and Antonio are both big fans of the Icelandic metal scene, having interviewed, reviewed, and reacted to several of the competing bands, along with a number of other Icelandic acts since the pair started their YouTube channel in 2017.
The winners of the competition will represent Iceland’s unsigned metal music scene during Wacken Open Air festival this August.
