Alice SK deals with forbidden romance with wintery new single ‘On The Road’, out 1st December 2022

Alice SK is one of London’s next big things. Not easy words to live up to, but the alternative singer-songwriter has been selling out venues across the capital recently and garnering the attention of the likes of BBC 6 Music’s Nemone, BBC Radio London’s Robert Elms and Absolute Radio’s Frank Skinner to name a few, so she is sure to deserve inclusion on everyone’s end of year ‘ones to watch’ lists.

Alice SK’s new single ‘On The Road’ brings together all the work she has been doing with previous releases with perhaps her finest release yet. Produced by Muca (Los Bitchos,L.A. Salami) as partnership from her previous singles, the track comes with a gorgeous spacious feel, combining Alice’s delicate voice with expansive and sumptuous string arrangements that twinkle with melancholic reflection.

‘On The Road’ is a story about a toxic love and adoration for an apathetic / good-for-nothing man. It portrays a naive girl who has fallen for the first time and buys into the manipulation without really understanding what's going on until it's too late.

Alice explains further, “The song describes an almost dangerous, forbidden type of romance which therefore makes it more desirable and contagious despite being destructive. We get glimpses of rationality from the girl and at times it is meant to be slightly sarcastic in the way that the man is described, however she is so far down the line that she is unable to trap herself from him and from her own heart."

As the story progresses, the track’s deep wintery atmospheres grow brilliantly and towards the end there’s a sudden rush of dramatic intensity as the main character starts to question the relationship and realize what’s going on. It’s a dark tale that we can all relate to, but with such a smooth production to die for that would sit neatly on radio playlists this winter.
