'What A Way To Win A War' is the first standalone single from 'Did I Sleep And Miss The Border?', the new album by Tom McRae & The Standing Band. A loud, angry and rousing anthem, the song is different to many of McRae's more personal recent releases. Featuring his band of long-serving musicians, The Standing Band, the single shows McRae to be a bit older, a bit wiser, but still with anger and energy to burn. In an age with few protest songs, it's good to see that outside of the mainstream there are artists who still care about the state of the world.

The new album, 'Did I Sleep and Miss The Border?' sees him reunited with is long-serving band, after 2013's more downbeat and contemplative album, 'From The Lowlands'. On this new album McRae evolves his songwriting to include more narrative story-telling, murder ballads, haunting cinematic soundscapes, as well as heart-rending love songs. This collection, McRae's 7th album in 15 years, demonstrates him to be a master song-writer, improving with age, honing his craft, and definitely around for the long-haul.

The album is set for release on May the 11th through Gentle Recordings/Universal.
