Acclaimed Bristol-based four piece Firewoodisland have released the brand new video for their latest single ‘Dearest Brother’. The track is the first taste of the band’s upcoming debut album, due in early 2018, and has already started receiving plays on 6Music.

‘Dearest Brother’ is a beautiful folk-pop anthem, building with intricate, delicate guitars before breaking into sky-high choruses and soaring harmonies, creating a gorgeously compelling sound that the band have christened ‘mountain pop’.

Shot in stark black and white, the accompanying video follows the steps of a troubled protagonist culminating in a gripping and poignant climax. Regarding the single and its video Firewoodisland say, “‘Dearest Brother’ is a song of compassion and tough love. It’s about watching friends getting hurt by bad decisions, letting them know that you’re there for them and about taking the brunt - as long as they do something to help themselves.

The video is a journey of self-discovery following a young man's story line of relationship, loneliness and shadow boxing. Filled with raw and bitter emotion, what happens when our hero faces up to his biggest enemy?"

The quartet, comprised of multi-instrumentalists Stian Vedøy, Abi Eleri, Dylan Jones and Steve Allen, have garnered massive praise from the likes of Q Magazine, Clash, The 405 and many more with the release of their 2014 debut EP lld and the following Dome EP last year. The band have also received great radio support from the likes of Radio 1, BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and more.
