Amongster is a 4 piece band from Ghent around singer songwriter Thomas Oosterlynck; The band has a very unique sound: from trippy pop till intimate electronics, warm beats and contrary rhythms. The warm and glowing voice from Thomas blends perfect with this sound which makes the group very unique and outrageous! It is special, it is different, it is melancholic, it is exciting, it is just fantastic!
The group won De Nieuwe Lichting contest on Studio Brussels last year (2014) with the great single Bright Life. The single became Hotshot on Studio Brussels and made it to number 5 in the End Of Year list from De Afrekening! Also Radio 1 is supporting the band!
The band made a nice course so far: not only could the 2nd single Leo count on some great airplay and a top 10 position in De Afrekening, they also had the chance to develop on a live level as well: they played the Pukkelpop festival, some nice shows (Depot, AB) and the first part of some great artists; amongst them Blaudzun and Perfume Genius.
The EP – which contains 5 songs – will be released on March 30th. It has been produced by Jasper Maekelberg (Gabriël Rios, Jef Neve, Nordmann, Mintzkov...)
