Today, Saturnal Records sets May 26th as the international release date for Blood Red Fog's highly anticipated third album, On Death's Wings. Formed in 2004, the first Blood Red Fog demo was recorded in the spring of 2005. This demo and a rehearsal tape recorded soon after led to a deal with Finnish underground label Grievantee and a release of the self-titled debut album in 2006. Then the band excelled within the black metal underground and made several split releases with bands like Musta Kappeli, Cosmic Church, Funerary Bell, and Verge together with the Radiating Desolation mini-album (2008) and two EPs titled Death Cult I & II (2012). The long-anticipated second album, Harvest, was released six years after the debut, in 2012, showing a more versatile side of Blood Red Fog to the world.

In 2014, the band signed to Finnish label Saturnal Records. The first manifestation of the deal is the release of the band's third full-length album, titled On Death's Wings - and never before have so rugged soundscapes, full of woe, better stated the band's magnitude as the channel of melancholic black metal. To be certain, Blood Red Fog plays melancholic, mid-tempo black metal inspired by bands like Burzum, Mutiilation, Drudkh, Satanic Warmaster, and Horna. The main non-musical inspiration of Blood Red Fog is death and its different ways of manifestation in the world. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
