BEFFROI is an electronic duo consisting of Rori & Valentin. Formed in 2015, they released their first single “Swim” through Kitsuné’s Hot Stream compilation. A second single ‘Faint’ - recalls the intensity of Portishead, while tumbling through a midnight realm entirely of its own design as stated byClash Music – followed in 2016.
Turning moody, downcast alternative pop & contemporary beats into a feverish and immersive trip, BEFFROI tells stories about people, their flaws, weaknesses & addictions.
Their brand new single ‘Jade’, out Friday 15/09, is another fearless slice of teenage angst put to addictive beats ‘n’ pieces.
“When Val first sent me Jade’s instrumental, I was driving by one of those red-light districts Belgium is famous for. Watching all those lonely souls interacting in hopes of finding instant satisfaction got me inspired. I then came up with those lyrics about this guy feeling numb & empty; desperately seeking answers about love & feeling mechanisms. The only time he finds closure is when he enters the “Jade”, but it never last long.”
